BlakSheep Creative redesigned the Vanceburg, Kentucky nonprofit’s site into a mission-first platform built to turn supporters into donors, volunteers, and nominated warrior teams

VANCEBURG, Ky. Warrior Ridge, a veteran-founded nonprofit that gives America’s elite warriors free retreats to reconnect and rebuild their Warrior Family, has relaunched its website with a full redesign by BlakSheep Creative, a veteran-owned web design and marketing agency.
The old site told the story, but it did not carry the weight of the mission. The new one does. Warrior Ridge now runs on a darker, sharper brand, real photography of the teams it serves, and a clear path for every visitor to give, volunteer, or nominate a team for a retreat.
The organization has already reconnected 88 warriors across 13 free retreats, backed by more than 47 Warrior 50 sponsors. The redesign is built to grow every one of those numbers.
A Mission That Needed a Platform to Match
Warrior Ridge was born from a bonfire, from the simple idea that warriors heal best when they are back with the people they served beside. The nonprofit brings former combat teams together for free reconnection retreats filled with the outdoors, shared meals, and time that closes the distance the years put between them.
That mission is emotional and specific. The previous website flattened it. Visitors had to work to understand what Warrior Ridge did, how to help, and how a veteran could put their team forward. Every point of friction was a supporter lost.
BlakSheep Creative approached the project as a veteran-owned shop that understood the assignment. The goal was not a prettier site. It was a platform that moves people from moved to acting.
What the Redesign Delivers
The redesigned Warrior Ridge site is built around three visitor intents: give, serve, and nominate. A gold Donate action stays pinned in the header on every screen. Dual hero calls to action, Nominate a Team and Support the Mission, split visitors by intent from the first scroll. Volunteer, Subscribe, and Warrior 50 sponsorship each have a clear path.
Every program finally has a home. Retreats, The Warrior 50, Warrior of the Week, and Warriors Walk each get dedicated space, and a clean Nominate flow lets units be put forward for a free retreat without hunting through menus. A Media hub and a Shop carry the brand without crowding the mission.
The build is fast and mobile-first by design, and that choice tracks with how giving actually happens now. According to the 2026 M+R Benchmarks Study, mobile devices accounted for 52% of all visits to nonprofit websites in 2025, and 43% of online donations were made on a mobile device that same year. A nonprofit site that stumbles on a phone leaves supporters and gifts on the table.

Built to Honor the Warriors and Grow the Family
The visual identity does its own work. A disciplined dark palette with gold and crimson accents reads as elite, not corporate. Real imagery of the warriors and teams Warrior Ridge serves sits front and center, and the storytelling leads with the origin and the Warrior Family promise rather than a wall of text.
Under the surface, the site is structured with clean code and technical SEO so supporters can find the organization by name and by mission. Email capture and a subscribe path keep donors and volunteers in the loop, and the build is scalable, so new retreats, programs, and sponsors can be added without a rebuild.
“Our mission is heavy, and our old site did not carry it,” said Landon Bentley, Executive Director and Founder of Warrior Ridge. “The redesign finally looks and feels like who we are. Now a supporter can find us, understand the mission in seconds, and give, volunteer, or nominate a team without friction.”

A Fit Between Two Veteran-Rooted Organizations
For BlakSheep Creative, the project sat close to home. The agency is veteran-owned and works with service businesses and mission-driven organizations that need their website to do real work, not just exist. Warrior Ridge is the kind of client the shop builds for: a clear mission, a real community, and a site that finally reflects both.
The organization joins a growing list of BlakSheep Creative builds across service, event, and nonprofit verticals, each designed to turn attention into action.
